More Pics of Caleb

Here's just a few more pictures of our newest nephew, Caleb!

Uncle Nath

Lukie was very excited to hold his little cousin
(for about 2 minutes)
Noah didn't want to get too close.

We really didn't actually spend that much time with him. We were there 3 times but only for short visits (20-30 minutes). We just had to take pictures every time we were there! Don't worry M&J we'll leave you alone for awhile now. You're lucky we live 1 1/2 hours away!

Lukes Birthday

We just finished celebrating Lukes second birthday. It was an extended celebration because it was Thursday before Easter we had to wait til the next weekend to have the party. We spent Easter weekend in Winkler with family. When we got back we gave him his birthday present from us- a tricycle. We had lots of fun putting it together with our little helpers.

This is the Fire Truck cake I made. I really like the way it turned out. It wasnt even that hard. Required a lot of icing though. I think I made 3.5 recipes of buttercream!
.

The celebrations finally ended this weekend with a Fire Truck party Saturday morning. We had 7 boys between the ages of 3 and 18 months in the house. It was a lot of fun!

I found that this birthday was a lot easier to take than his first. Last year the memories were still too fresh from his birth and the first couple of weeks of his life. It was still on my mind this year but more in the terms of how thankful I am for how God has carried us through the past two years. It has been really crazy at times but he has been faithful!

So now that birthday season has ended we look forward to the birth of our neephew (niece or nephew) at the end of May and Naths sisters wedding at the end of June. The boys are the ring bearers!

February Fun

February has been filled with celebrations! We started out with Jack's 2nd birthday, then my birthday and finally Noah's 3rd birthday. It has really made this month fly by. And now the boys are talking about Luke's birthday which is a month away.

The weather has finally turned nice again, so the boys and I have been spending time playing outside playing in the snow. It is so great watching them play together. Noah will say what he's going to do and then Luke has to follow right behind.

Noah's imagination is vivid these days too. When it's finally quiet in the house, while Luke is napping, Noah will get out his dinosaurs and line them all up and play out little scenarios with them.

Luke is still just as silly as ever. He is talking a lot and often has 4 and 5 word sentences. But his favorite word right now is "Huh!?" No matter what I say to him his response is "Huh?! What you say Mommy? Huh?!" and he'll repeat is so many times and so loud that I end up laughing so hard that I can't correct him.

We are currently trying to decide whether we should put Noah into preschool in fall. Unfortunately we have to decide this now because this is when schools are having registration. I think Noah would probably enjoy it, but at the same time, is it necessary? He's only at home for another two years and then he'll be in school all day long everyday? Maybe I should just enjoy the time I have left with him. I feel like the last 3 years have been such a blur with everything that has gone on.

I guess that's it for now. I can't believe that it's March next week and only a couple of weeks til Easter. I can't wait for spring though. It will be so great to go outside again without bundling up the boys.

Luke's New Glasses

We picked up Luke's new glasses today, so I had to share how cute he looks.

He has worn them twice today for about 20 minutes each time.

We're hoping that he grows to love them and that they will help his vision but only time will tell.

November Update

Sorry it's been awhile since I've been here. I have been meaning to post but the longer I waited the bigger job it seemed so I avoided it.

We did dress the boys up for Oct.31st. Noah was an elephant and Luke was (and is) a clown. I didn't think they would keep their costumes on, but they did. We only went over to the neighbors house so they could see them dressed up. I'm glad that we didn't go any further, that was enough candy.

The other big event was Noah's potty training. One Friday I was changing another dirty diaper and I said to him, "Noah if you learn to use the potty I will buy you a big biter dinosaur." Big biter is what he calls the T-Rex. He said "Okay" So that's how it started and by Saturday afternoon he was peeing consistently on the potty and by Sunday evening he was taking care of the other business too. So we went to Toys R Us on Monday and he picked out this set of dinosaurs. He was a little grumpy when I took this picture, but he really loves them and plays with them all the time, it's really cute.

The long weekend in November was spent at the Victoria Inn with Nath's family. We enjoyed Dino beach, which has a nice beach entry pool and some water slides. Noah loved the Big Biter on the wall too.

Eric was also playing hockey in Winnipeg that weekend so most of the fam went to Friday's game and everyone made it to the Saturday game. Then we had the priveledge of seeing Eric at breakfast on Sunday. It was a nice treat to see him.

Oh and for those of you who don't know Nath's family is expanding by leaps and bounds this Spring. Not only is Nath gaining a brother in law (Eric), he is also going to be an uncle again! Mike and Jess are pregnant and due May 30th! We are all very excited! (We have already sent one load of baby paraphernalia to Winkler for them.)

We had another eye appointment for Luke last week. This time with Dr. Rahman, whose an opthalmologist who sees some kids. She didn't really have anything new for us except that she thought that we should give glasses a try. So we found some for him today and will get them next week some time. We are cautiously optimistic. It would be great if this would improve his vision, but I'm a little skeptical because the two pediatric ophthalmologists that we saw before her didn't think that glasses would be beneficial. So we'll give it a try and see what happens. He did look really cute in them.

I guess that's all for Fall, I finally took down my scarecrow today and I guess I'll have to put up my Christmas wreath. We have our first Christmas get together this weekend, though it sure feels too early for that. The weather has been too nice. High of +9 for Wednesday! What a great November we're having!

Blessings,
KW

Thanksgiving

We have been having such a nice fall that I thought I would share some pictures with you. Last weekend we were at Labarriere Park and went for a little hike there. Then this weekend we were in Winkler for Thanksgiving where we enjoyed three turkey dinners. We also stopped at the Roland Pumpking Fair on Saturday morning to check out the pumpkins, and went to the Pembina Valley Provincial Park for a hike that afternoon. The boys had a great time, Noah did the whole hike, and didn't even ask to be carried. We had a really great weekend.

Luke

Luke and Noah
They love being in the bush

Here Noah was taking Luke's hand so that he wouldn't fall down the hill beside the path. I was surprised how long Luke let him hold his hand.

Luke flying with Daddy
Definately one of the boys most favorite activities. I think it's one of Daddy's favorites too.

They got tired by the end, and since we didn't bring a stroller we had to rely on Daddy's muscles to get the boys back to the car.

Noah flying.

This is at the Pembina Valley Park. Noah and Grampa were looking for minnows in the creek.

The boys taking a little break on the bench.

Luke travelled in luxury on Uncle Joel's (my brother) back
Luke loves being in that backpack

Here's the pumpkins, these are just little ones around 120 pounds, they were weighing off the monster ones in the arena while we were there so we didn't really see them. But they were atleast three times as big.

Fun Fall Pics

Here are a few pics of our recent trips to St. Vital Park and Kings Park. Had to take a picture of our first outing with the touques and mittens. It's so sad that summer is over. I've sure noticed a difference in the boys now that they aren't outside as much. Noah keeps asking when it's going to snow. He can't wait. I wonder if he really remembers what it's like.

Can't go anywhere without a stick.

I can't remember why Noah was giving us the "thumbs up" but it was just so cute I had to post it. (He can only do it while wearing mittens)

Luke has to do whatever his big brother does.

This was at St. Vital Park at their new playground. I'd love to know what he was thinking about here.

Peek, Luke!

Here's our little cowboy, Noah.

Busy Morning

Well, we've had a busy morning. Yes I know it's only 8:30am. This morning the boys were in their booster seats eating cereal so I went to the office to check my email. When I came back Luke was sitting on top of the table and the entire box of cereal was all over the table and floor. Then while I was cleaning up the kitchen, I hear a crash in the living room. I go to look and Noah pulled down the curtains and the rods from the living room window! Ahhhhhh! Are all kids like this? Do I really have to be by their sides at all times?? It seems like they only need a minute on their own and they will destroy something. I know that this will make most of you laugh, if this wasn't my own post I'm sure I'd be chuckling too. Maybe in a couple of years, once they are both in school and I have my days to myself....

Fall at the Farm

We enjoyed Fall at the Farm yesterday at the Steinbach Mennonite Museum with Grampa and Gramma and Uncle Joel and Tannis. The boys had a great time checking out all the animals and buildings. Noah loved the train ride, and the wagon ride, as well as the house where they were sampling pickles!
